Go Ahead. Eat the butter. AND THE CHEESE. AND THE COOKIES.

We all know Land O’Lakes butter. But what most people don’t know is that Land O’Lakes is actually a co-op, owned by over 1000 dairy farmers. So when you eat their butter, or cheese, or any other product, you’re supporting them and their communities rather than a giant corporation. When relaunching the brand, Land O’Lakes wanted to tell consumers that in a bold way. So, we came up with a campaign that gave people permission to unapologetically eat butter, cheese, cookies and more, telling the world to “Eat it like you own it.” Because over 1000 Land O’Lakes farmer-owners actually do.

I helped lead the creative and the pitch presentation to win this account for LA agency-Battery, and then produced the pitch-winning work. All in my first freelance gig.

Once the brand campaign was up and running, we started to launch new Land O’Lakes products with the tone of “Eat it like you own it.” The first was a new cheese line, which included videos that ran on digital billboards, targeted in the midwest near or in grocery stores where the products were sold. When possible, we tailored the creative message to where it was running.
